We are excited to share a recap of the ATHENA participation at the EU DisinfoLab Annual Conference, which took place recently in Riga, Latvia!
Over the course of two days, attendees gained invaluable insights into the evolving disinformation landscape. We were privileged to hear from Ryan Fugit from OpenAI during a session chaired by Sabrina Spieleder from NATO. The conference also featured impactful panels focusing on Russian disinformation, with contributions from experts such as Vera Tolz and Kevin Limonier. Additionally, a discussion on lessons learned from Kyiv, featuring Olha Danchenkova, Maryna Vorotyntseva, and Marie-Doha Besancenot from NATO, provided further depth to our understanding of the challenges we face.

During these two days, our partners from EU DisinfoLab organized excellent networking opportunities for projects tackling disinformation, including ATHENA. We also participated in the FIMI Cluster Meeting led by Marianna Prysiazhniuk (ISSP – Information Systems Security Partners), where we connected with key partners and projects, including:
- ARM Project EU
- SAUFEX
- ADAC.io
- DE-CONSPIRATOR
- RESONANT Project
We are truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of this conference and to present our activities and project goals!
A huge thank you to Alexandre Alaphilippe, Heini Järvinen, and Inès Gentil for their coordination throughout these days and for achieving such tremendous outcomes.
